Kuk Sool Won™ is the most comprehensive martial arts system, emphasizing etiquette and education first! Kuk Sool Won™ is not a sport, nor is it simply another oriental self defense method. It is a complete accredited martial art system that is dedicated to the cultivation of mental and physical strength and well-being, and to the preservation of traditional Korean Martial Arts.

In Hyuk Suh is the founder, Grandmaster and President of the World Kuk Sool Association®. He has studied martial arts for more than 50 years, receiving his first instruction from his grandfather, Myung Deuk Suh, a master-instructor to the Korean Royal Court. After his grandfather's death, he traveled throughout the Far East seeking out and studying additional aspects of the martial arts.

The knowledge he acquired from his grandfather and subsequent masters enabled him to establish Kuk Sool Won™. His organization now boasts 1.3 million members with over 800 schools worldwide in 27 different countries. Although expert in every aspect of martial arts, Grandmaster Suh is especially renowned for his mastery of pressure point and joint manipulation.

In contrast to other popular martial arts in modern-day Korea, Kuk Sool Won™ uses radically different spinning techniques and low stances. Then in 1974, when Kuk Sool Won™ was highly esteemed by the public, In-hyuk Suh took his martial art out of Korea to the United States, forming the World Kuk Sool Association® in 1975.

Originally headquartered at San Francisco, California, the demands of an expanding global presence dictated moving to a more central location, and in 1991 the World Kuk Sool Association® was relocated to Houston, Texas. Presently located in Tomball, an outlying district of Houston, the WKSA® headquarters is equipped with traditional training grounds covering over 20 acres of land.  The facilities include a spacious dojang (training hall), outdoor training area, knife-throwing & sword-cutting areas, three different archery ranges, a meditation center, as well as the capability to practice some of the aforementioned skills from horseback.
